For this piece, I aimed to achieve a contemporary realism/Impressionism hybrid landscape that mimicked the appearance of a traditional painting. To accomplish this, I followed my traditional painting knowledge and intuition, applying the same techniques such as toning the canvas in a burnt sienna-like hue and blocking in shadows. I kept the cars in the background very loose and nearly indistinguishable to keep the viewers attention on the more natural aspects around them. I hope to evoke a sense of serenity and pull of hope as we reach for brighter days.
